Special events that have run for over 13 years:
Our Club Wave, a BBQ poker run in the San Juan Islands is our yearly watercraft event which began in 1993.
Another day is the Monkeybutt 300, our sportbike ride across the passes into the cowboy tourist town of Winthrop. The first event could be handled by one table at a restaurant in Winthrop. We now rent the Winthrop Barn a large hall where we have a great BBQ lunch. This past year drew about 100 riders.
The cruiser crowd asked for their own ride and in 2004 we started ‘Das Bavarian Kruise’, a three hundred mile ride to the Bavarian tourist town of Leavenworth.
For the past few years we have been taking the Track Store to a huge desert race in Odessa, Washington called the Desert 100. This year the pits held around 7000 people and the big race featured 900 riders. We also teamed up with KYMCO to give away a quad, supply the course medics with four-wheelers, and set up a small demo course with a few of the kids quads. Usually, once a year we have a dirt bike demo day out at the local riding area. This year we teamed up with KTM and bad a good time teaching the sales staff the finer points of dirt bike riding. In the store we serve hot dogs and popcorn every Saturday. We’ve done this since the beginning.
By far the most important day of our year is our Spring Break or Open House. Held in April the event is our unofficial start of the season. We began the promotion to open our new store in 1996 and featured a variety of fun activities. Some of them have not changed such as our local chapter of the Yamaha Star riding club running a BBQ, a bike shine and show, some sort of sale and a bike giveaway. Each year has had some special events unique to that year. It draws enough people that a few years ago we hired off-duty police to keep things sane. We close off the street and use all the neighboring companies’ parking lots for parking. The last few years have been the best, drawing a few thousand people over the day.
